Antioxidents are known to play a part in helping prevent many cancers. They are believed to help prevent and repair oxidative stress, a process that damages cells within the body and has been linked to not only the development of cancer, but to Alzheimer’s disease, heart disease, and Parkinson’s disease.
Antioxidents are found and included in many over the counter multi-vitamin supplements. These antioxidents help fight and support our immune system in fighting off toxins and infections. They help the immune system eliminate oxygen free radicals before they can destroy cells and body organs. Antioxidents are also needed to eliminate the toxins that build up in the liver, muscle, and bones.
Some foods that are high in antioxidents are blueberry‘s, strawberry‘s, cranberry‘s, grapes and many other fruits. Other antioxidents can be found in green tea and grapeseed extracts, vitamin A and betacarotene, vitamin C, Vitamin E, selenium, and the minerals, copper, manganese and zinc.
Antioxidents are useful to older people because as we get older, our bodies become less able to fight off illness. Antioxidents are shield against harmfulness of free radicals found in the body.
